The CeX mandrel is made using 99.9% pure optical-grade cerium oxide.  It is ideal for polishing concave facets in silicate materials such as opal, glass, feldspar, quartz, and the like.

    - Do not run mandrel dry

    - The mandrel only needs to be moist to function. The use of a fine mist spray bottle or a slow water drip is sufficient.

    - If polishing action is slow, add a small amount of cerium oxide to the mandrel. A high-purity cerium oxide crayon from Gearloose (gearloose.co) is recommended.

    - For best results, add a small amount of baking soda (about 1/4 tsp) to your water tank to raise the pH to 8.0.

    - Recommended speed: 100 to 300 RPM with fast oscillation
